Slovenian HSE in 2021 with 7.1 million euros in net profit
LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), July 18 (SeeNews) – Slovenian state-owned electricity producer Holding Slovenske elektrarne (HSE) swung to 7.1 million euros ($7.2 million) in net profit in 2021 from 184.2 million euros profit in the previous year, he said on Tuesday.
HSE’s net sales revenue rose to 2.54 billion euros last year from 1.859 billion euros in 2020, while its EBITDA increased from 187.8 million euros to 330.2 million euros, the company said in its annual report published on its website.
The main reason for the growth of EBITDA is the EUR 231.8 million compensation that the Šoštanj Power Plant (TES) received from the General Electric Group, the legal successor of Alstom, after the out-of-court settlement for the construction of Unit 6.
Without the compensation, last year’s EBITDA would have been 52% higher than in 2020, the company added.
It produces 70% of electricity from renewable energy sources produced in Slovenia. Half of the electricity it produces comes from renewable energy sources, and the other half comes from two coal-fired TES generators and four gas generators.
