For 2 hours stuck in the plane, no one told us anything
Strong inconvenience due to the closure of Capodichino airport for 3 hours; the testimony of a passenger hijacked in Bari: “Stop for 2 hours, nobody told us anything”.
The arrival in Naples even a few minutes early, then the announcement from the loudspeakers: the plane would remain in flight for another fifty minutes, because it was impossible to land due to an aerial lift. Thus begins therea mishap of the passengers on the flight from Sharm el-Sheikhblocked for over two hours at Bari airport, until 20:30, when the flight began take-off to return to Naples.
To stop everything, an accident on the runway: a canadair on landing had a gear failure while he was on the runway. Consequently, it was necessary to completely stop the Neapolitan airport: arrivals were diverted to the airports of Rome and Bari while take-offs were postponed. The blockade lasted just under three hours, from around 4 pm, when the fire-fighting aircraft crashed, to 6:50 pm, when the runway was reopened.
The flight to Naples direct to Bari airport
“We left Sharm at 2:30 pm – tells Guglielmo Crisci at 19:10 at Fanpage.it – now we have stopped in Bari for 50 minutes. None of the crew speak Italian, nobody tells us anything. We have air conditioning, but we’re stuck on the plane: we can’t get off, we can’t even get out. In Naples we were arriving at 5:35 pm, we started the descent at 5:15 pm but the captain, from the microphone and in English, warned us that due to traffic we would be waiting in the air for 55 minutes“.
After that time, however, the plane did not land. Indeed, a new communication has arrived. That it also caused a fright among the passengers. “At 17:45 – continues Crisci – they warned us that we were headed to Bari because there had been an accident in Capodichino and the entire airport had been closed. We were afraid, he could not imagine what kind of accident, and what severity, could have caused the stop of the airport. Once landed in Bari, the arrival was announced from the microphone with the usual formula, that of thanks and greetings“.
And there the second part of the misadventure began: stuck in the plane without any communication. “Passengers lined up but, when they got to the cabin, they were informed that no one would get out. And we’ve been stuck here ever since. We are waiting to know if this will take us to Naples, if we can move on another flight… The tiredness is felt, we are at the airport since 11 this morning, they gave us a bottle of water and a small snack. We also have children with us, some passengers who have to take another plane and now risk losing. We are almost at a standstill and no one tells us what will happen“.
Around 7:30 pm, called by the crew, some police officers got on board; there were moments of tension due to passenger protests, still in the dark. A few bottles of water were then distributed. At about 20:30 the plane started take off with direction to Naples.
The Canadair blocked on the Capodichino track
Delays in the parties in Capodichino due to the blockade of the runway
Similar scenes also inside the Capodichino airport, where the blockage of the runway caused delays in departures. On Facebook the testimony of Giusy, who should have taken the plane this morning to return to Turin. First a flight delay, then the accident.
“I was supposed to leave at 11:25 – writes at 17:23 on Facebook – initially they postponed the departure by two hours. Then, after the two hours, they told us that there was the plane and there was the crew, they were waiting for the ok to board. Then we were told that the commander had not felt well. Then they told us the flight was running out of fuel. Now a Canadair is on the runway which has caught fire and has blocked take-offs and arrivals. At my gate, gate A4, the police, DIGOS, the military have arrived and they are treating us not very well. We are all workers, people who have to go back to work“.
Also in this case the passengers waited for information for a long time, about nine hours. Only continues, continues the woman, and only after the request of a policeman then, distribute 4 euro vouchers. “I only tell you that a sandwich costs 8 euros – to conclude – there are parents with newborn children who have not found homogenized food at the airport to feed their children, who are fasting. Nobody is charged with this problem. I feel defeated today. It is also badly treated by the state. It had never happened to me. Not so who to ask for help. I am sad, tired and angry“.
