Enduro, Verona wins the seventh round of the Absolute Italian Championships at Ceva
The GasGas rider beat Watson (Honda) and Cavallo (TM). Next stop in Tuscany

Masterpiece of the reigning E1 World Champion, Andrea Verona (GasGas), who triumphed in the fifth and penultimate round (seventh day of competition) of the Italian Enduro Absolute Championships held in Ceva (CN) on a Sunday characterized by a heat hellish and by the large amount of dust present on the 51 km course, four times, and along all three special differences for a total of 12 timed trials. The Englishman Nathan Watson (Honda-RedMoto) trailed by only 7 “04 to the last Verona in what was his third victory of 2022 in the overall standings. Suffice it to say that in the 12 special stages held, Verona has recorded in the Overall Ranking: 7 first, 4 seconds, 1 third place, while in the 250 4T Class he obtained 11 first and 1 second place.Watson, in comparison, obtained 7 special victories with 4 seconds and 1 third place.

Third potion for Matteo Cavallo (TM-Boano), 1’9 “03 behind Verona, fourth the Swedish Mikael Persson (Husqvarna) at 1’10” 92 and top five completed by Thomas Oldrati (Honda-RedMoto) at 1’11 “54. Oldrati played for the podium of the Absolute for having lost about twenty seconds in the last special stage due to a contact with a tree that made him lose control of the bike.

In the Class 250 4T seventh consecutive successor to Andrea Verona, who outdistanced Matteo Cavallo and Thomas Oldrati in the order. The Class 450 4T saw the victory of the Bolognese Alex Salvini (Husqvarna JET-Zanardo), who climbed to the top step of the podium despite the not yet good condition of his right hand a month ago in the Italian GP in Carpineti (RE) . Second position for Gianluca Martini (Beta) and first podium for the young former cross rider from Bergamo Yuri Quarti (Husqvarna-Osellini) in his fifth endurp race of the season. In the 125 2T Deny Philippaerts (TM-Boano) won with Matteo Grigis (GASGAS-GTG Motogamma) second and Filippo Grimani (Beta), third. Seventh consecutive victory in the 250 2T also for Jordi Gardiol (TM-Boano). In second position Maurizio Micheluz (Husqvarna) returning to the races after a fracture of the left collarbone two months ago at the Portuguese GP and Thomas Grigis (GasGas Gtg Motogamma) third. The 300 2T was dominated by Matteo Pavoni (TM-Boano) from Brescia ahead of Michele Musso (Sherco) and Gabriele Pasinetti (Beta). In the Junior Class great test of the young Sardinian Claudio Spanu (Honda-RedMoto) in his first victory of the season after the operation on his arms to solve the problems due to the compartment syndrome. Second position for Morgan Lesiardo (Sherco-CH Racing) from Como and third for Manolo Morettini (KTM) from Bergamo. In the Youth class victory wins the English title early for the Piedmontese Kevin Cristino (Fantic). Cristino preceded Manuel Verzeroli (GASGAS) and Pietro Scardina (Fantic). In the 50 Code Class, the winner was Simone Cagnoni (Vent), also an Italian champion ahead of the title in this category. Aurora Pittaluga (Beta) won in the Women’s Class.

Now space in two weeks for the GPs in Slovakia and immediately the following week in Hungary to then live the Six Days in France at the end of August with our National team called to defend the two world titles won in 2021 in Italy in Rivanazzano (PV). The EICMA Assoluti d’Italia Enduro will return in early October to Castiglion Fiorentino (AR) for the last two days of competition.
