Wijnaldum’s salary would be a problem for AC Milan and Roma
Placed on the transfer list, Georginio Wijnaldum, a 31-year-old midfielder, would be in the sights of AC Milan. But if the Parisian leaders would be ready to sell off their player, it is obviously the salary that is the problem.
Indeed according to the Italian media Tutosport, the Lombard club would be strongly interested in the profile of Wijnaldum. But according to this same source, the player’s salary of €9.7m/year would be a problem for his courtier. For its part, PSG would be ready to pay half of this salary if the negotiations lead to a loan. Note that AS Roma would also be interested in the Dutchman, but would also be embarrassed by the player’s excessive salary demands.
If the player wants to regain playing time, a departure is inevitable. The Parisian leaders have made it very clear to certain players that they no longer fit into the club’s plans. There is therefore no other way for them than to make a financial effort if they want to find playing time. Wijnaldum played only one season and never managed to win.
In particular with a view to the 2022 World Cup in November, it is essential for him to find a club where to bounce back if he does not want to lose his place. So let’s hope that the negotiations lead positively because for its part the Parisian club must reduce its workforce by the end of the transfer window.
