Paris: environmental activists again blocked the ring road
This Saturday, July 16, it is on the entrance to the A6 motorway from the ring road, that the environmental activists of Dernier Rénovation took action. They called for “immediate government action on the climate emergency”, blocking the road.
The ring road seems to have become one of the usual places for the actions of environmental activists from Dernier Rénovation. And for good reason, after June 11 and 26, it is this time on the side of the entrance to the A6 motorway at the level of the Paris ring road, that traffic was blocked for a few minutes this Saturday morning.
The police headquarters clarified: “This morning around 8:30 a.m., on the ring road at Porte d’Orléans, at the intersection with the A6, individuals from the Last Renovation collective briefly occupied the ring road, before being dislodged by the police station “.
In total, fourteen people were arrested and then placed in police custody, press release from the Paris prosecutor’s office.

In a press release relayed on its website, the ecological movement has claimed its action, and invites citizens to sign their appeal.
Last Renovation aims to “drastically reduce France’s emissions, starting with energy renovation”. A goal that directly echoes the heat wave that is currently being felt in France and the rest of Europe.
Moreover, Sasha, the campaign’s spokesperson, declared in a press release: “In the context of an exceptional heat wave which testifies to the already existing effects of climate change, we continue to disrupt the normal functioning of the country, its infrastructure and its sports competitions”, as was the case during the Tour de France.
Not ready to give up, the activists of the movement also warned on the site “that they will return to action, on the roads, every day, until their request is accepted”.
