A breakdown leaves the Andorra health center without air conditioning in the heat of the heat wave
In the midst of a heat wave, a breakdown has left the health center in the Teruel town of Andorra without air conditioning. The devices went out to fail in June and about a week ago to work completely. Fearing that the solution to the problem will be delayed, the outpatient clinic staff has brought a dozen domestic fans to the center from their own homes that they have distributed through the consultations and the common areas, many waiting rooms.
The health center records its indoor temperatures which fluctuate between 34 and 36 degreesvery high for people -many of them elderly-, who are not in good health and who in some cases arrive after having suffered a heat stroke or due to disorders derived, precisely, from the rise in thermometers.
“It’s as hot here as it is on the street. Fire enters through the windows,” The alert sources close to this clinic, which will warn that even certain stored health products could be damaged. Twenty professionals work daily in the center, through which approximately one hundred patients pass each day.
The same sources close to the health center explain that the Maintenance Department was promptly notified early in the summer that the air conditioners were not working properly. When the technicians inspected the installation, they warned that the repair was not easy and that this could not happen for a few months. “They have to find a solution”they claim from the ambulatory.
