Ville de Bordeaux : Le projet bordelais d’animation de l’architecture et du patrimoine évolue
Bordeaux, City of art and history, is expanding its heritage enhancement activities. The Architecture and Heritage Interpretation Center (CIAP) will move to the Museum of Aquitaine in September 2022.
Labeled City of art and history Since 2009, Bordeaux has been promoting its exceptional heritage through numerous actions: field visits, awareness of the inhabitants about the architectural and landscape environment, initiation of young people to architecture and the urban landscape, qualitative reception of the tourist public, etc. It is in this context in particular that the Center for the Interpretation of Architecture and Heritage (CIAP) “Bordeaux World Heritage” opened, which offers in a didactic way (models, films, digital) keys to better know the city. . Located on Place de la Bourse, the CIAP must move (end of the rental lease), the architecture and heritage animation service will continue its activities in September 2022 at Aquitaine museum.
Extended heritage offer
Bordeaux has chosen to strengthen the natural link between its urban heritage and its history museum, in close collaboration with the Regional Department of Cultural Affairs.
From the start of the school year, heritage enhancement activities will continue (Urban Walks, Heritage and Wedding Days, artistic and cultural education courses, etc.). The architecture and heritage animation service develops the dialogue between the collections of the Aquitaine museum and the urban space. Three new routes will be offered this fall inside and outside the walls of the museum: in the footsteps of the 19th century in Bordeaux, discovering the stone bridge or even a route to the ancient Roman amphitheater on the Palais-Gallien site, whose museum has just welcomed an impressive model.
Heritage documentation will be available at the Aquitaine Museum and at the Tourist Office.
Development of an educational space
The enhancement of heritage also includes several educational actions, particularly within the framework of artistic and cultural education (EAC), a major focus of the City’s cultural policy. From autumn 2022 at the Aquitaine Museum, the “Atelier Bordeaux Patrimoine Mondial” will once again welcome schoolchildren around thematic programs: workshops “living in Bordeaux”, “a monument from A to Z”, “draw your city”, etc.
