Ukraine is waiting for long-range missiles for HIMARS from the West
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, is confident that Western partners will provide Ukraine with projectiles for the HIMARS missile systems, which are capable of hitting targets at a distance of 300 kilometers.
Reznikov reported this in an interview with the newspaper Financial Times
“I think this is a gradual movement. We prove that we can use their weapons brilliantly and hit the targets accurately, and we will get more weapons, and also with a longer range,” he said.
The minister praised the HIMARS systems for their accuracy and range and noted that they helped reduce the number of losses of the Armed Forces in Donbas.
In other words, any attempt by him would require counterattacks by the Ukrainian military, more missiles and artillery.
“By the end of this year, there will be serious changes on the battlefield for the use of Ukraine… I hope that this year we will see a counteroffensive, and it will be successful,” the minister decided.
In addition, thanks to the HIMARS anti-aircraft missile defense system, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are striking critical objects of the Russian Federation in the rear and reducing the possibility of an offensive in the Zaporozhye direction to a minimum, and due to the destruction of the base in the Kherson region and Melitopol, the occupiers are still likely to have insufficient stability to hold the southern regions.
