San Marino. In the United Kingdom, Lonfernini meets the former British Secretary of Defense and Education
Several prestigious meetings held by the Secretary of State for Labor Teodoro Lonfernini as part of a visit to the UK.
Lonfernini, explains the Secretariat of State for Labor, “accompanied by the Consul General in London, Maurizio Bragagni, he held an interview with the former Secretary of Defense and Education Congressman Gavin Williamsonwith whom we discussed the current role and the results of the San Marino Interparliamentary Friendship Group with the United Kingdom (APPG) on San Marino and how to better use the parliamentary dimension to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Williamson expressed his desire to join the APPG on San Marino and to help with new ideas for his future work.
As part of his trip to the UK, Lonfernini received the Honoris Causa Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Bolton, ranked by The Guardian among the 50 best universities in the UK. The awarding of the honorary academic title was an opportunity for Lonfernini to meet the Chancellor of the University of Bolton, The Earl of St Andrews, Giorgio Filippo Nicola Windsorthe Vice Chancellor, Professor George Holmes DL and other members of the university’s management and academic staff. During the meetings between the respective realities, as well as the results obtained so far and the future role of the Consulate of San Marino in London in promoting and protecting the interests of San Marino and its citizens in the United Kingdom ”.
