HSV striker Meißner and Viktoria Köln: irritation about change
At the beginning of June, HSV Michael Mutzel prohibited direct contact with the team, and in the middle of this week he completely released his sports director. The post has not yet been filled. Now this very vacuum could have caused problems for the first time.
In fact, he was as good as gone. Robin Meißner’s move to Viktoria Köln was imminent. For the time being, however, the number is now on hold. There is some confusion as to why this is so.

Meissner and Viktoria Cologne. From HSV’s point of view, a deal that has not materialized so far, at least, because Hamburg itself has too few attackers in the squad. In addition to striker Robert Glatzel and Ransford Königsdörffer, Meißner is the only one. For this reason, the club signaled to the 23-year-old that he was not currently receiving clearance.
Viktoria Köln is hot for HSV striker Meißner
But there is another version that is circulating and that would testify to a significant communication problem in the Volkspark. According to MOPO information, everything should have boiled down to a loan deal with the people of Cologne last Sunday. In particular, Viktoria trainer Olaf Janßen (55) is said to have made an enormous effort for Meißner, who in turn was said to have been willing to forego part of his HSV salary for the deal. The medical check in the cathedral city was planned for last Wednesday.
But why didn’t that happen? Meißner, it is said, wanted to say goodbye to HSV coach Tim Walter on Tuesday, who – attentively – is said to have reacted very surprised because he had not been informed of the expected departure beforehand. The result: the number was called off, at least for the time being.
The Cologne expected Meißner to the medical check
HSV denies this representation. Walter was informed at all times, they say. Only: If the coach was against Meissner’s departure anyway, why did Cologne expect the striker to have a medical check on Wednesday?

It is possible that the deal will work out later if HSV should get a replacement themselves. For the time being, Meißner will have to wait and should be in the HSV squad, which started in the second division in Braunschweig on Sunday.
