There was a disruption on the Swisscom network between 2:26 p.m. and 2:58 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. After that, the service was fully available again, Swisscom said on request. Some of the emergency numbers were also affected.
No new connections could be established from and to the mobile network. Business numbers were also affected by the disruption. According to current analyses, existing connections were not affected by the disruption, and emergency calls could largely be made, according to Swisscom on request. The cause was a configuration error.

Among other things, the emergency call centers in Geneva and Baselland were affected. According to a report by Alertswiss, the emergency numbers 112, 117 and 118 for the police, ambulance and fire brigade in Baselland were affected. At around 4:45 p.m., the police spokesman reported that the damage had been repaired and that the emergency numbers could be reached again.
In Geneva, the Fire and Rescue Service (SIS) reports that it has been difficult to reach the emergency numbers from mobile phones since 3 p.m. Calls to landlines, on the other hand, work normally.
“We recommend that the population use the fixed lines,” said Lieutenant Nicolas Millot, spokesman for the SIS. The concern of firefighters is that people cannot reach the emergency room. (sda)
