Now also Tyrol and Salzburg on Corona traffic light orange
The Corona traffic light continues to glow orange throughout Austria and is therefore at “high risk”. The second highest level of the assessment tool in the pandemic now also applies to Tyrol and Salzburg.
These federal states join the regions of Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland previously marked in orange. The Corona Commission announced this on Thursday afternoon after a circular decision. There was no real meeting this week.
The federal states of Carinthia, Upper Austria, Styria and Vorarlberg continue to be associated with medium risk (yellow). However, Upper Austria and Vorarlberg scratched the 50 limit for a high risk with a risk figure of 48.4 and 48.0 respectively. Lower Austria (50.9) and Salzburg (51.3) came just above.
Burgenland again above critical value in intensive care units
In Burgenland, the intensive care units were 15 percent occupied yesterday, Wednesday, making them the only federal state to exceed the first critical ten percent mark. The occupancy rate on the normal wards was also the highest there at 4.3 percent. According to the forecast, a total of more than four percent could slip here in Tyrol and Lower Austria in the next two weeks.
Vienna (1,117) and Burgenland (1,007) have the highest seven-day incidences per 100,000 inhabitants. However, this WILL also be distorted by the fact that Vienna, with 23,717 tests per 100,000 inhabitants, tests three times as much and Burgenland (15,105) tests around twice as much as Styria, which is in third place with 7,826 tests per 100,000 inhabitants. At the bottom of the tests is Tyrol with 2,952 tests per 100,000 inhabitants.
