Manchester United’s Alvaro Fernandez is attracting interest from across Europe
Manchester United star Alvaro Fernandez is preparing to go on loan for the 2022/23 season.
Voted Manchester United’s Under-23 Player of the Year, the young full-back is of interest to a number of clubs across Europe.
Club Insider Jonathan Shrager claims Fernandez is being targeted by clubs in England, Spain and Switzerland. He tweeted: “There is currently interest from clubs in England, Spain and Switzerland in relation to Alvaro Fernandez from Manchester United on loan this season.”

The Spaniard was rewarded for his progress in the youth teams with a call-up to the first-team squad in April when Ralf Rangnick invited Fernandez, along with Alejandro Garnacho and Shola Shoretire, to train with the older players.
Now it only makes sense to send him on loan – be it to a club in the league or further afield. We can only assume that’s why he didn’t make it into the 31-man squad for the pre-summer tour.
Fernandez is yet to feature in the Premier League but has been benched for the last four games of last season.
At left-back, the arrival of Tyrell Malacia would only see Fernandez fall down the pecking order. Giving him an opportunity to go on loan and add to his stock as a young talented full-back makes sense.
