Malta to lift COVID entry protocols on July 25, Dy PM Chris Fearne raises health sector
Malta: Malta’s Ministry of Health has stated that the country will lift its entry restrictions on COVID-19 on 25 July 2022. Allegedly, all visitors will be allowed to enter the country without no restrictions, such as proof of vaccination, recovery or certified tests upon arrival.
Authorities have stated that as of 25 July 2022, persons traveling to Malta without a vaccine certificate or recovery certificate will no longer present a negative PCR / Rapid Test before arriving in the country.
However, until the decision is implemented, travelers will have to present valid proof of COVID-19. The Maltese government has stated that by then, all travelers, regardless of their country of origin, must currently present a certificate of vaccination, recovery, or test.
But the Maltese government plans to drop COVID-19 restrictions as COVID-19 infections increase across the European continent.
COVID-19 in Malta:
According to World Health Organization reports, Malta has registered 3,3769 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic in the last seven days.
According to vaccination rate statistics, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) stated that Malta had given 1,248,452 doses of vaccine as of 30 June.
The ECDC went on to explain that about 93.9 per cent of the entire adult population in Malta had completed primary vaccination, while another 80.5 per cent of the population had received the first booster shot.
