“In Portugal, they won’t talk about qualification, but about the invasion of the field”
O Corinthians qualified, on Wednesday night, for the ‘quarters’ of the Brazilian Cup, in Vila Belmiro, in a match tainted by an invasion of the field by Santos fans.
At the end of the match, Vítor Pereira, head coach, lamented the success and even made a reference to Portugal.
“I’ve seen it… I’ve seen it. Many people can do that… it can’t want to be football. I prefer to talk about football. I prefer to talk about football. I know Santos is not having a good time, but this goes way beyond the limits, so measures have to be taken. If we don’t have security, there can’t be football…”, began by saying the Portuguese coach.
“Brazil has good teams, many quality players, good coaches [mas] an absurd calendar that doesn’t fit in anyone’s head. It doesn’t allow for so much quality – if the employees could rest more, the product would be of quality and not of survival. I’m sure that in Portugal tomorrow they won’t talk about our qualification, but about the invasion of the field. Because the image that passes is this, not a high level of football. With scenes present….”, complemented.
