Andorra shares the priorities of the presidency of the Czech Republic to the European Council
ANDORRA LA VELLA (ANDORRA), July 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra, Maria Ubach, chaired this Thursday a telematic meeting to share the priorities on which the Czech Republic will focus its presidency in the next Council of the European Union.
They have participated in the meeting with the ambassador of the Czech Republic accredited in Andorra, Ivan Janèárek, and the Secretary of State for European Affairs of Andorra, Landry Riba, informs the Andorran Government in a statement.
During his speech, Janèárek explained that the priorities of the Czech presidency in the European Council will be the management of the refugee crisis due to the war in Ukraine, energy security, the reinforcement of Europe’s defense capabilities and the resilience of the European economy.
And he highlighted the will of the Czech presidency to “continue to monitor the EU negotiations related to reaching an association agreement with Andorra, Monaco and San Marino”.
MEETING WITH THE DELEGATE OF THE SWISS GOVERNMENT
Ubach also met this Thursday with the Delegate of the Swiss Government for the 2030 agenda, Jacques Ducrest, on the occasion of the participation of the Andorran delegation in the High-Level Political Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations .
They have discussed the content of the Voluntary National Report that both countries present at the forum, and have reaffirmed their willingness to establish regular meetings “to exchange experiences in drafting the report, analyze the main conclusions of each country and find ways of cooperation for the Agenda 2030”.
