The land use statistics provide basic data on the use of space in Liechtenstein. IT IS updated periodically and provides data related to the development and composition of settlement areas, agricultural areas, forest areas and unproductive areas.
With the collection of land use statistics with aerial strips from 2019, the time series of land use statistics for 1984, 1996, 2002, 2008 and 2014 was updated using the Swiss land use statistics method.
Content area statistics
The results volume provides information about the results for the Principality of Liechtenstein and its 11 municipalities. The state of land use and land cover in 2019 and its development over a period of 35 years between 1984 and 2019 are shown. The evaluations are presented in different views and formats such as tables, graphics and maps.
Most important findings from the land use statistics 2019
The area statistics for 2019 show, among other things, that:
– the wooded areas with 42.2% of the state area occupy the largest part of the state area before the agricultural areas with 32.2%,
– have hardly accepted the settlement areas and the unproductive areas,
– the agricultural areas, viewed over the individual periods, became smaller overall.
