Portugal with a financing need of 0.2% of GDP in the first quarter of 2022 – Executive Digest
The Banco de Trimestre de Portugal (BdP) presented a Monday that shows the Portuguese economy, in the year that was built in the first quarter 2022 PIB0 a financing need of 2%.2%
According to the organization, this result shows how the financing of non-financial corporations and public administrations (2.6% and 1.5% of GDP, respectively), which together exceeded the financing capacities of individuals and financial corporations (from 2.5% and 1.5% of GDP).
In the same period last year, the Portuguese economy had a financing capacity of 0.3% of GDP. The value of this particular financing, which this year “reflects the balance of the financing capacities of financial corporations, was offset by the decrease in public administrations”, explains the need for financing of financial corporations.
Compared with the first Portuguese economy, at the end of the quarter of 2022, the rest with a net financial position of -92.8% of GDP, compared to -105.0% of GDP at the end of the same quarter of 021.
Of these financial corporations, the financial assets of liquids and financial corporations of individuals 134.0% and 2.1% of GDP, respectively, and not the financial assets and general government of -131.9% and -97.0% of the GDP, respectively.
“According to the evolutions mentioned, they correspond to the capacity or need for financing and other volume and price variations in the period under analysis, as well as the effect of the increase in GDP”, explains the organization.
