Alexis Michalik, the man with five Molières, plays at La Scala Provence
“I was born in Avignon, in the Off in 2005, with A crazy day ! It’s a festival that means a lot to me. This is where I really found success with The story bearer, in 2011, at the Théâtre des Béliers. We started playing in front of ten people in an 80-seat room and ended up full every day. Many of my shows come from the Off economy, in their conception,” says Alexis Michalik.
He is currently the most widely read author and the most played director. Crowned with five Molières in his name (a dozen in all for his shows), he fills the 600-seat hall of La Scala Provence every evening with his play A love story, Molière 2020 for the staging of a private theater show, which he will play until Sunday July 17, before handing over the baton. In other words, he doesn’t need a tractor.
Comfortably housed in his pied-à-terre in Avignon, his little pleasure, after years in a small studio and in an outlying rental apartment, he can “enjoy”. “I go to see shows. I keep a diary on Instagram to try to attract even more people, and with my associates. I follow the shows of the Acmé production box. “His favorite places? Place des Corps-Saints for a drink, the “Vivotto” restaurant in a jar. And when he was young, Delirium!
