PSP in “special operation” in Lisbon’s nightlife areas – Portugal
The PSP Lisbon Command is carrying out an operation on Saturday night in nightlife areas, with inspection and search actions, to “prevent and combat violent and serious crime” and reinforce the “sense of security”.
“The PSP Lisbon Metropolitan Command, through the Criminal Investigation Division, with the collaboration of the 1st Police Division, is currently carrying out a police operation in the area of Cais do Sodré, Bairro Alto and Rua Cintura do Porto. Lisbon, through inspections and searches outside the home”, reads a note sent by the PSP around midnight.
In the note, the PSP adds that the “special operation” aims to “prevent and combat violent and serious crime and reinforce the feeling of security in nightlife areas”.
The operation counts on the presence of a judicial magistrate and with the collaboration of the Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE), also indicates the PSP.
Also according to the Metropolitan Command of Lisbon PSP, agents from various areas are involved in the operation, namely Criminal Investigation, Rapid Intervention equipment, Prevention and Immediate Reaction equipment, Traffic, Private Security and Inspection, as well as the Special Unit of Police.
