When it was 34°C in the shade on Sunday July 10, there was no way to escape the city. In Bordeaux, in Gironde, the inhabitants reveal their good plan to keep cool. “We come to enjoy the mirror of water, we go to the parks, we go for a walk on the banks of the Garonne”, says a woman. Faced with the high temperatures, the city of Bordeaux has set up nine public foggers.
For lunch al fresco, some terraces also offer misters on request. “With these heats, it is impossible to eat in direct sunlight. We favor either places in the shade or places inside with fans and mobile air conditioners”, explains a room manager. A heat peak of around 40°C is expected for next week.
