Team ateneo Pisa launches F. Student self-driving single-seater – Components & Tech
The E-Team, the racing team of the University of Pisa, which participates in the Formula Student car championships, today presented its two single-seater prototypes in the Palazzo della Sapienza, in the heart of the historic center. These are track cars, which as in last season, are for a driver and an autonomous driver. Both are fitted with a Honda engine, obtained from a Cbr 600 R and adapted in the auxiliary equipment to best meet the requirements of a four-wheeled vehicle rather than two. The car with driver features a hybrid chassis with monocoque at the front and tubular at the rear. During this season, explains a note from the university racing team, “the front suspension has been completely revised thanks to an in-depth study and the development of a dynamic model of the vehicle, while the self-driving car sees its software stack completed in all its parts, allowing it to recognize and map the route and then define the best trajectory in complete autonomy “. The team leader, Marco Dalla Zanna, the rector of the Pisa university, Paolo Mancarella, the technical directors of the E-team, Chiara Barontini and Luca Boccacci, the president of the Faculty of Engineering, Alberto Landi, took part in the presentation ceremony. course referent, Francesco Frendo and councilor Paolo Pesciatini.
