READER’S POST: Norway increases support for terrorist training
In the news, we read that textbooks published by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNRWA) for the education of Palestinian-Arab children still encourage them to do so. a hobby to kill Israelis.
By: Dr. Michal Rachel Suissa, Head of Center against anti-Semitism.
This has been going on for many years and has even been criticized in the Storting then current foreign minister asked his predecessor the following questions: «When did the Foreign Minister become aware of the content of the new curriculum, and what has the Norwegian side done to the Palestinian education authorities to help ensure that the school curriculum has a peace-building effect.? »
There was no improvement. Norwegian authorities abdicate co-responsibility at the same time as their important foreign policy task is to keep the UN and the Palestinian Authority well supplied with aid funds that are used, among other things, to keep anti-Semitism alive among new generations. We could send the question from the then parliamentary representative in return and ask her if she has not meanwhile become acquainted with the content of the Palestinian children’s curriculum is worse today than it was when she first became aware of the problem. Now the message is, among other things, that «Palestinian children sacrifice their blood to liberate Jerusalem. » The textbooks that the UN produces still hails jihadviolence and death in the fight against Israel and its Jewish inhabitants.
The Israeli organization Impact-se examining school supplies worldwide and revealing anti-Semitic content, noted last year that materials produced by UNRWA for use in the autonomous territories, but which are not included in their official overview, systematically teach children to adopt hateful attitudes toward Israelis, which in turn creates a basis for a positive attitude towards terrorism.
This report as well as the Norwegian authorities was introduced a year and a half agoshows with great clarity that the Western-funded terror education of Palestinian children under the auspices of a UN organization, not only has continued objections from political parties in both Norway and the European Parliament, but that the problem has worsened over time.
A Norwegian response to this situation we heard from the UN Security Council a few days ago when it was announced by our UN delegation that «UNRWA plays a key role in ensuring that the needs and rights of Palestinian refugees are met. … For our part, Norway has paid our annual contribution of 28 million dollars to UNRWA as part of a new 4-year agreement of 111 million dollars to UNRWA. This is a significant increase from previous years. … «
There are many reasons to deplore the situation of the so-called “Palestinian refugees.” The few who remain of them, along with their descendants, have been held hostage as political hostages in refugee camps for nearly 75 years by neighboring Arab states who have denied them resettlement in Arab countries, many of whom originally came as migrant workers to the Ottoman and British governments. . the area. The camps are used as a political means of pressure against Israel, which itself managed to assimilate and equal numbers of Jewish refugees from Arab countries. Israel continues to receive thousands of Jewish refugees from around the world every year.
UNRWA therefore not only represents an inhuman of millions of descendants of the original Arab refugees, but is also a hostile measure aimed at destroying the Jewish state of Israel. This is what we pay billions to maintain, and this is what our political authorities boast that they are part of the UN.
We are pleased to note that in some European countries and in the EU now more and more politicians are reacting to the one-sided and unjust criticism directed at Israel from so many quarters. Recently, Dutch members of the European Parliament appeared with strong criticism of the Commission hostile treatment of Israel which, without reservation, has offered energy supplies to the EU. Like Norway, the EU uses invalid arguments from international law to criticize Israel, while they do not use the same arguments against other states that they regard as “occupying powers.” This hypocrisy must end, according to the Dutch representatives.
In Norway, we still have the benefit of experiencing elected representatives who dare to deal with the foreign leadership’s unfounded criticism of Israel. Several times a year, we have experienced that foreign ministers in the Storting present unreasonable and erroneous allegations and accusations about “occupation of Palestinian territories»And«settlements in violation of international law“Which constitutes”an obstacle to peace. » We have missed Norwegian politicians who dare to take a stand against this anti-Semitic cult that has taken root in the foreign service and some Norwegian parties and organizations.
We fear that the situation we are now experiencing with overt political mismanagement both in Norway and in the EU, may tempt the authorities to try to divert attention from their own mistakes and shortcomings by raising new accusations against Israel. This has been one of the driving forces behind anti-Semitism for centuries. It may then be a consolation that in the EU there are now at least elected representatives with a strong enough backbone to resist management threats.
