The Norwegian Public Roads Administration with practical good news for you who are going on a car holiday in Norway
Now you get an overview of the ferries in Norway in one place. For each ferry route, you will receive departure times, traffic announcements and a link to the ferry operator for the selected route. On some quays there is also a webcam for the selected stretch.
Airport chaos, pandemic and lack of passports mean that more people have got a feel for Norway holidays, and the summer will be marked by many cars and tourists on the Norwegian roads.
– We want to make it easier for road users to take ferries in Norway, especially those who are not used to ferrying. Travelers can find information from all ferries in one place and easily see information that is useful for planning their trip by ferry, says department director Nils Karbø in a message from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
During the holiday season, there will be versions with even more options.
– We want to launch the first version now, since there will be a need for it this summer, says Karbø.
He says that the parallels with the new launch will work continuously with improvements and new functionality throughout the summer.
Are you sent out? Take the next one!
Karbø the new site can be useful for anyone planning a holiday trip that includes one or more ferry routes. He also has a clear call:
– Do not let yourself be stressed if you have been sent out to the ferry you have aimed for. It can create dangerous situations both for yourself and others. Take it easy, keep the speed limit and take the next ferry instead! Use the time for an extra stop or a detour from the main road. After all, the most important thing is to arrive, says Karbø.
Data from EnTur has been used to develop the ferry site.
