Rovati Foundation, inside the new headquarters in Corso Venezia in Milan
The historic building in corso Venezia, 52 in Milanin front of the Indro Montanelli Gardens, purchased by the Rovati family, it has finally opened its doors. A place of great beauty in the center of the Lombard capital, enriched by a luxuriant garden with over twenty different plant species, which it hosts the Luigi Rovati Foundation, named after the doctor, researcher and pharmaceutical entrepreneur who in 1961 founded in Monza Rotta Research Laboratorium, a pioneering biotech, new international excellence in scientific research and drug development. Rovati, born in 1928, was a far-sighted man, but a great passion for the world had classic.
Rovati Foundation: “Collecting helped him in research”

The seven-storey building (two of which underground), for a total area of over 3,000 square meters, has undergone a complex restoration.expansion and redevelopment from the developed studio MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects.

Rovati Foundation, what’s in the building
Currently the garden with the pavilion, the conference room, the study room, the museum shop of Johan & Levi, the Caffè-bistrot and the gastronomic restaurant of the starred chef Andrea Aprea are open (based on a project by Flaviano Capriotti).
In addition, the exhibition “Luigi Rovati Foundation: the construction site and the process” can be visited free of charge in the Pavilion, illustrating the evolution of the architectural project together with the ideational process of the Foundation as a cultural infrastructure. Cultural and scientific activities will continue throughout the summer in the conference room with meetings and conferences to the public, which can be booked on the new Foundation website. The Foundation Library booking and consultation service will be activated in the study room.
Rovati Foundation, on 7 September the art museum which houses the Etruscan collection opens
It will be necessary to wait until 7 September to visit the art museum directed by Monica Loffredo which houses the Etruscan collection of the family. But in the intentions of the Foundation the past will have to dialogue with the present and for this reason there will also be contemporary works.
“The museum must be inclusive, speak to everyone – underlined the president of the Foundation – but at the same time it will go beyond the traditional concept of a museum in which to enjoy only art exhibitions, but will create a place for study, thought, experimentation and sharing. In short, a space to be experienced as an integral part of the cultural fabric of the city“.
Rovati Foundation, eight fundamental codes
The Foundation, is a flexible method, develops its activities with a flexible network model with national and international relations with public or private subjects, adopting an operative to carry out different actions with skills acquired in the artistic-cultural and scientific fields, in the continuum between art and science traced by Professor Luigi Rovati.
A method defined by a model governed by eight fundamental codes: knowledge, expansion, inclusion, creation, space, aesthetics, relationship, social utility. The office will be open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11 to 20.
From 1 September it will be possible to book free admission to the Art Museum for the whole month.
