NCC is starting to build a new office building in Sweden
The Swedish construction company NCC has started work on a new office project on Masthuggskajen in Gothenburg.
The project is called Habitat 7 and covers almost 8,000 m² of office space.
This new office building, located close to the company’s Våghuset and Brick Studios project, has been designed to create the least possible environmental impact.
The eight-storey development is built with solid wood technology, with a hybrid frame of climate-smart concrete and wood.
It is centrally located by Järntorget and close to good transport links, restaurants and bars.
NCC Property Development’s manager Joachim Holmberg says: “We are now continuing our development of Masthuggskajen and starting work on our third project in the district.
“Habitat 7 is a spectacular office project and an alternative for companies looking for a sustainable workplace that goes beyond the ordinary.
“The feeling of being outdoors has been taken indoors at Habitat 7 to offer the best possible conditions for employees’ creativity and well-being.”
Habitat 7 is built to achieve sustainability certifications at the level of BREEAM Excellent, NollCO2 and Citylab.
Restaurants are planned to be built at street level.
The work with the office development is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2025.
In April this year, NCC collaborated with the property manager Kustbostäder to build new rental apartments, as well as retail premises, in central Oxelösund.
Occupancy of these buildings is expected to begin in the autumn of 2024.
