Bad weather Naples 8 July 2022
A violent storm is hitting Naples and its province from 3.45 am on July 8th. Bad weather is accompanied by a close series of thunder, which woke many people with a start and by very strong gusts of wind especially in Vomero, Ponticelli, Pozzuoli and throughout North Naples.
Reported the collapse of a tree on a car in Viale Mazzini in Pompeii. The driver miraculously got out of the vehicle unharmed.
Tam tam on social media taken by storm. There are those who are seriously worried: “It looks like a whirlwind, you can hear everything flying”, “It’s the end of the world”. And those who have seen the drought of recent weeks take it as “A breath of fresh air from nature”.

Weather alert
The Civil Protection of the Campania Region has issued a warning of critical weather conditions for rains and thunderstorms of a “yellow” color valid from 8 pm on Thursday 7 July, until 2 pm on Friday 8 July.
The notice concerns the central sectors of the region and, in particular, the zones: 2, 3, 4, 5 (Zone 2: Alto Volturno and Matese; Zone 3: Sorrento-Amalfi peninsula, Monti di Sarno and Monti Picentini; Zone 4 : Alta Irpinia and Sannio; Zone 5: Tusciano and Alto Sele).
In these areas, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected, punctually intense. The storms, in fact, will be rapid in evolution and forecasting. So it could be improvised and also give rise to lightning and hail with consequent fall of branches or trees.
Flooding, raising of the hydrometric levels of water courses, rock falls and occasional landslides linked to particularly fragile conditions of the territory are possible.
The Civil Protection Prevention of the Campania Region recommends putting in place all the competent measures aimed at preventing the envisaged measures, in line with the respective plans. It is also recommended to pay attention to the public green, for the possible fall of branches or trees.
