Mourning service after the terrorist attack in Oslo – NRK Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country
The memorial service in Oslo Cathedral today was strongly marked by the terrorist attack in Oslo on Saturday night.
Artist Sondre Justad sang during the service and was sad and strongly influenced during the preview.
– I have felt it on my body, I have felt fear and we have been completely crushed. But it is about not letting fear take over, he says.
Justad himself is open about the fact that he is queer. Foresight today is one of the most difficult things he has done, he says.
– I tried to sing with my eyes again so as not to hit everyone’s eyes. Then I opened them and then it became very difficult, says Sondre Justad.
Friend with the doorman in London
Storting President Masud Gharahkhani pointed out in his speech that he had spoken to the doorman who works at the London Pub. He is a friend of Gharahkhani’s family.
That night he had to save and help people. Zaman cried and was in deep sorrow. He cried and said that he also felt ashamed because he happened to be from the same country as the terrorist, Gharahkhani said.
He added:
– Dark times in our nation have shown that it is not about skin color or religion. Evil is evil, he has hatred, a terrorist is a cowardly terrorist.
– We are one community
In attendance, Crown Princess Mette Marit was in a team with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Minister of Justice Emilie Enger Mehl. Crown Prince Haakon has been diagnosed with corona and could not keep quiet.
– The shooting stopped the Pride parade, but she did not stop the fight and the efforts to fight against discrimination, prejudice and hatred. Dokker is not alone, said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre to all queer and all who have been affected by the attack.
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre also addresses all Norwegian Muslims.
– I know that many of the dolls are afraid of being suspected and made responsible for an action that is so far from their values. Dolls need to know that we stand together. We are one community, said Støre.
Gather in grief
Tenant in Fri, Inge Alexander Gjestvang, also expressed that the initiative must not divide people in Norway.
– Yesterday was heavy for many of us. He was extra heavy for queers who share background, experience and religion with the perpetrator. They know the common queer grief, but must also feel the horrific racism and Islamophobia. That is why we must stand together, he said.
Gudstenesta was rented by the president of the Norwegian Church, Olav Fykse Tveit. On the altar adorn the rainbow flag.
– In the midst of the joy of life and love, the rainbow turned black. But bullets can not take the life of love, said President Fykse Tveit.
Domprost Anne-May Grasaas pointed out that the cathedral on Friday had arranged a rainbow mass.
– The contrast is great from the rainbow fair we celebrate here on Friday. We celebrate that we now have the freedom to love those we want to love. Today, our thoughts are with all those who are affected and with all queer people who live in fear, said the rector.
It was intercession for all those who are affected, all relatives, injured, as well as all queers who live in fear.
