Ebusco receives the first order from Sweden
The Dutch electric bus and charging infrastructure manufacturer Ebusco has received its first order for the Swedish market. The public transport company Svealandstrafiken has signed a contract with Ebusco for 23 copies of the 18-meter-long Ebusco 3.0, which will be delivered during the second half of 2023.
Svealandstrafiken is owned by the regions Västmanland and Örebro Län, which are located inland west of Stockholm. In both regions, more than 65,000 passengers travel by bus per day. Most of the bus traffic is handled directly by Svealandstrafiken, while a minority is handled by subcontractors.
When the electric articulated buses are delivered, Ebusco vehicles will be on the roads in eight countries. “We are very pleased to expand our footprint in Scandics,” said Ebusco’s CEO Peter Bijvelds. “Earlier this year, we hired Jonas Helsner as our dedicated sales manager in the Nordic region. This order in Sweden is a perfect next step in our expansion strategy. ” Ebusco does not disclose the financial scope of the order from Svealandstrafiken in the statement.
Ebusco had unveiled 3.0 in October 2019, and the vehicle is said to have a lighter body that enables a longer range. In addition to the 18 meter long articulated bus, Ebusco 3.0 is also available as a twelve meter long solo bus with electric drive. However, the manufacturer continues to offer the Ebusco 2.2 model.
