The “Sutto Contest” ideas competition it will involve the students of the master’s degree courses in Architecture of the Iuav University of Venice. Objective? Redevelop an abandoned area making it a project of value for the territory and for the image of Italy. An area that, precisely due to the passage towards the sea and the Noventa outlet, is a strategic showcase for the Municipality and beyond.
Alberto Ferlengarector of Iuav at the time of signing the agreement, says “After the long interruption to the pandemic, the realization of this competition is a source of satisfaction for us. The Iuav University of Venice, with the energies of its students and teachers, can provide companies or that necessary point of view to conceive visions and not just solutions. This is all the more important in the face of issues such as those concerning the landscape of contemporary infrastructures, compared to the project, a quality project can improve the aesthetics of places such as and provide new opportunities to communities. For this collaboration between Iuav and Sutto it is particularly important, as an experiment and as a concrete opportunity to give value to the places of our time “.
“We thought it was right to give back to the community some of what we have received in recent years thanks to the development of the market of our cellars, of the SuttoWine, clubs all over the world, and of our OmniaHotel.. – say the brothers Luigi and Stefano Sutto – The interested area was bought by us to create an example of beauty in a point that is a real business card for the territory. We are happy with the collaboration with the Iuav University of Venice because we think that young people are a resource that is often underestimated by companies “.
For Giuseppe D’Acuntodirector of teaching of the Department of Culture of the project of the Iuav University of Venice, “iThe project theme proposed by this competition of ideas offers our architecture students the opportunity to deal with an extremely original and stimulating creative space and project. A highly formative moment therefore, through which students can also measure their skills with the size of the competition and its competitive nature “.
