Sweden’s Prince Nicolas visits the duchy for the first time – Royal Central
Sweden’s Prince Nicolas has officially visited his duchy for the first time.
He went with his parents, Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill, to Ångermanland to open Discovery Park on Naturum Höga Kusten, a World Heritage Center.
Prince Nicolas, who was just celebrating his seventh birthday, officially inaugurated the park by unveiling a plaque and playing on the slide, and his mother took a turn on the slide with him. There was also a voyage of discovery in the forest and crafts on the agenda of the young king and his family.
Princess Madeleine later said that it was “very fun to participate” in the activities with Nicolas.
The park is located near Skuleberget, a mountain in Sweden that has a nature reserve on it. Ice once covered the rock over 10,000 years ago but has since melted away to expose the rock we see today.
Afterwards, the trio visited the lookout point on Skuleberget and took a ride on the chairlift.
Discovery Park received Nicolas as a baptismal gift for his baptism seven years ago by the inhabitants of Västernorrland.
Governor Berit Högman said of the Prince’s visit on Tuesday, “We are very pleased to welcome the Prince and his family to officially inaugurate Discovery Park.
“I hope it will be a memorable opportunity for the prince, who arouses both playfulness and curiosity to learn and explore more of the High Coast and Ångermanland!”
The family recently traveled to Sweden from their home in Florida for the summer. Princess Madeleine and her two daughters, Princesses Leonore and Adrienne, arrived a few days before Chris O’Neill and Prince Nicolas because Nicolas had a sore ear and could not fly with his mother and sisters earlier this week.
On returning to Sweden, Princess Madeleine told Expressen, “We are looking forward to a wonderful summer in Sweden. It feels good; you can not always take it for granted anymore, after covid and when you have not been able to go home. You really appreciate that be here every day. ”
Prince Nicolas Paul Gustaf was born on June 15 in Sweden. His grandfather, King Carl XVI Gustaf, announced his name and ducal title Duke of Ångermanland two days after his birth.
