Detained and sent messages to a psychiatric residence of a citizen of Latvia – did not like about Lukashenka
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia is expanding the visa-free regime. A case of arrest of a citizen of Latvia because of messages on the phone has already been recorded – he is currently in a psychiatric prison. This was stated by the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Zanda Kalnina-Lukashevich, transfer La.lv.
“People think that they just go there for shopping, to visit relatives, but who is arbitrarily arrested on the street,” said a representative of the Latvian Foreign Ministry.
She gave a specific example.
“Currently, one citizen of Latvia has been detained. His phone got suspicious and suspiciously disliked messages condemning the Lukashenka regime. He was taken into custody,” said Zanda Kalniņa-Lukashevicha. “When the consular staff quickly arrived to meet with the detainee, they were no longer found, as he was placed in a closed psychiatric cell for an examination for a month.”
She did not say whether the detained Latvian citizen used the “Belarusian visa-free” pass or whether he lives in Belarus.
