Beauty brands reach the Metaverse: Daniela Madariaga Andorra
Mexico.- At the end of 2021, the Metaverse welcomed a number of beauty brands that initially saw this niche as an opportunity to develop a new marketing strategy.
However, makeup in the Metaverse would be giving way to what will be known as the cosmetics of the future, says Daniela Madariaga Andorra, influencer and makeup artist.
With the efforts that various companies and brands have made to enter the Metaverse and expand their audiences, the makeup giants cannot be left behind.
“Beauty and makeup brands allow us as users to project a digital image that, although idyllic, correctly projects our personality,” explains Daniela Madariaga Andorra.
Can you imagine your avatar doing a beauty routine like in the physical world? Well, it is already possible and the Mexican influencer shares properties are the beauty brands that are gaining ground in the Metaverse.

The British beauty brand has launched its first virtual store Shop With Friends, which, according to the influencer: “you can visit with your friends in video chat and do your shopping. In addition, very soon your avatar will be able to try the brand’s products in augmented reality.”
Gucci and Nars
The two brands have joined Animal Crossing (one of the most famous video games of recent times) to share their cosmetics with all users. “If you play, your character can walk around the store with Gucci or Nars makeup or wear the brand’s new perfume,” says Madariaga Andorra.
Dior
The French brand joined the Metaverse with the Ready Player Me platform and created a world adapted to its image where users can form their customizable avatar and immerse themselves in a unique universe that comes to life thanks to them.
The firm has also joined South Korean Metaverse Zepeto’s roster of beauty partners (including Gucci, Ralph Lauren and UGG), to create nine avatars designed by its makeup image and creative director, Peter Philips.
