In which hotels to sleep in Paris for less than 150€ per night?
Selection“La Matinale” invites you on a journey. This week, from Jo & Joe Paris Nation to The People Paris Marais via Babel Belleville, our selection of hotels for a crazy night, or not, in Paris.
While the waves of tourists are once again pouring into Paris, it is not always easy to find a hotel worthy of the name, at an affordable price, in the heart of the capital. Here is our selection of small, charming, cosy, welcoming establishments, all of which have an extra soul: here a brilliant roof terrace, there a hidden patio, here a hyper-worked decoration, there a mezze restaurant. And practice rates below 150 euros per night. Please note, prices sometimes rise a little higher depending on the period chosen (especially in August), but Paris is beautiful in all seasons.
Babel-Belleville
In the small rue Lemon, quiet and pedestrian, the terrace of Babel is a call to idleness, with on the table some mezze (hummus of split peas or breaded peppers) and a lemonade. We are, however, very close to the tumult of Belleville, and the hotel created by Joris Bruneel and Clarie Feral-Akram wanted to remain anchored in this cosmopolitan district of eastern Paris. Certified “company with a mission”, the hotel has favored the hiring of staff from Belleville and works hand in hand with local players: the coffee comes from the Brûlerie de Jourdain, the fruit from the Zingam grocery store, the bread from Healthy, solidarity dinners are organized every week. So much for the Babel spirit.
Inside, the hall and the restaurant have the charm of the Orient. In the 31 rooms in patinated tones, everything has been thought out for a cozy but lasting welcome. No Nespresso machine (because of the capsules) or TV, but books, a teapot, natural bath products, and an ultra-comfortable bed where you dream of curling up. The opportunity to test, in this very soundproof cocoon, one of the massage rituals offered. Energy ? No, rather serenity.
Orpheus
Here we are perched on a small balcony on the sixth floor, with a view of the rooftops of Paris, the Salpêtrière and… the building of the World. A scene à la Klapisch, to experience at the Hôtel Orphée, the latest addition to the Orso group. Ideally located between the Jardin des Plantes, Gare d’Austerlitz and rue Mouffetard, this 44-room hotel, which has just opened, adopts the codes of the group: neat decor, a warm welcome (the little piece of cake offered on arrival ), cozy rooms, a simple breakfast made with good products, but also the Orso guide to good addresses around the hotel. We love the psychedelic Art Deco carpet, the brick and khaki colors on the walls and the exotic Okoumé wood furniture. A little cocoon where you feel good.
