San Marino steals an egg, repents and sends 10 euros to the shopkeeper
On an outing with his class in San Marino, Benjamin, a 12-year-old Swiss boy, is the little boy who walked into Danilo Chiaruzzi’s grocery store in the historic grocery center. He had no money with him, but when, in the display, he saw the Kinder chocolate eggs, couldn’t resist and stole one. That gesture, however, weighed on him so much that, once he got home, he talked about it with his dad and thought about what could be the kindest way to apologize to the shopkeeper. Danilo Chiaruzzi himself tells it, in the Facebook post, where he told this beautiful story with a happy ending.
«Now nothing surprises me anymore, with what we have been through in recent years», it is written in the post, «but today I changed my mind. I received a registered letter from Switzerland, handwritten with inside 10 euros as a letter of apology of a father whose son would have stolen a kinder egg from me on a trip. “
In the letter, to which he attached a banknote, Benjamin wrote in his own language, German: “Sunday, May 30, I am going into your shop. Since I didn’t have any money I stole a Joy Kinder seat. I’m very sorry, and so I was wrong. Because I want to live in peace with God and with her, I attach 10 euros to be forgiven… ».

The San Marino operator invited the twelve-year-old Swiss initiative a lot: «I was stunned and this letter should read by many kids that every day, for fun or challenge, they steal potato chips, candy or other ». So much so that he wants to see Benjamin again to compliment him on his exemplary gesture. “I’ll answer him with a postcard,” wrote the shopkeeper, “and an invitation to come back and shake his hand.”
Among the comments of Chiaruzzi’s followers, that of a teacher: «There are still decent people! I will tell my students this wonderful example! ».
