Matilda’s Abroad Preview: Aussies go head-to-head in Sweden
Before the international break begins, and our Matilda’s Abroad travels to Spain for a first ever meeting, a final weekend of club activities awaits our Aussies.
Australians go head-to-head in Sweden, while San Diego Wave seems to remain at the top of the table in the NWSL.
Kick-off in the USA, Emily van Egmonds First-placed San Diego Wave FC travel to take on NJ / NY Gotham FC when they want to add some breathing space to the top of the table.
Wave FC is in first place on 15 points, with the Chicago Red Stars behind them also on 15 points, but they have a game in hand over San Diego.
San Diego has faced three draws straight and will aim to pick up all three points against a Gotham team that has only won three wins so far.
This match starts on Monday morning at 06:00 AEST.
When we move to Sweden, the last matches before the break are here. Remy Siemsens AIK have a tough task on their hands when they receive Teagan Micah and Charli Grants FC Rosengård, which is currently in the first place.
AIK have only recorded two wins for the season, while their opponents have not yet been defeated during the season and will aim to extend their unbeaten series to 15 matches.
FC Rosengård comes to the match in shape and won last weekend with 5-2.
This match starts on Sunday evening at 21:00 AEST.
Finally, Clare Polkinghorne and Katrina Gorrys Vittsjö GIK receives KIF Örebro when they are looking for their eighth victory of the season.
Vittsjö enters this match after an outstanding 3-2 win over BK Häcken last weekend, and is only four points afraid of taking over Häcken in fourth place.
The last time the two teams met in May, Gorry made a winner in the 87th minute and secured a 1-0 victory over KIF Örebro. Vittsjö will aim for a similar result, to give them confidence before the break.
This match starts on Sunday evening at 11: 00 pm AEST.
