Music: Naples embraces D’Alessio & Friends – Culture & Shows
A celebration of friendship, melody and Neapolitan pride: ‘Uno come te’, the Rai1 show live from Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples to celebrate Gigi D’Alessio’s 30-year career, is a triumph of hugs , banners and mobile phones to the sky. The aerial images taken by the drone offer a glance that seems to erase the memory of the pandemic in an instant, bringing back to pre-Covid times.
While the hashtag #GigiUnoComeTe, the first of the trends, flies on Twitter, the show also offers funny curtains in the advertising breaks and behind the scenes, where the reunion with Fiorello takes place in the Amadeus dressing room and the Sanremo ‘Amarello’ gives smiles.
“Naples is together and mum together. We rejoiced together and mum together”, says on stage Gigi who in recent days thanked his audience several times for defending against prejudices. The heart of Naples also beats for the illustrious Neapolitans honored: Renato Carosone, Eduardo De Filippo, Mario Merola, Totò and the Bolognese Lucio Dalla, adopted patrimony of Neapolitan culture. A special memory is for Pino Daniele.

If Fiorello remembers the beginnings of Gigi, guest of his first variety ‘Stasera pago io’, with the Sanremo success ‘Non dirgli mai’ (proposed here by the singer-songwriter in an exciting clip from the San Carlo theater), with Amadeus dancing wildly, the landlord plays in a ping pong of hits of the 90s, between melody and dance music, with the DJ Massimo Alberti at the console. “We couldn’t tell him no. We are like brothers,” says Fiorello, very tanned. “It’s the sun of Naples: Ed Sheeran arrives and Koulibaly exits”, jokes the former king of karaoke with the public of Piazza del Plebiscito, dear to him since the time of the Festivalbar.
Gigi and Fiorello sing together Tu vuo ‘fa l’americano, Torero, o’Sarracino and then Como suena el corazon, but with a Pink Floyd mash-up.
The first round of applause, however, is for Eros Ramazzotti, opening guest who duets on Gigi’s ‘Quanti amori’. If Fiorella Mannoia enchants with her voice and her homage to her in Naples, Vanessa Incontrada has fun while the younger audience goes wild with Alessandra Amoroso and Achille Lauro.
“With so much pride I can say ‘I am Luca’s father” “, says D’Alessio in the most intense moment of the show, after the duet on’ What hurts’ with his third of five children, launched by Amici with the name art LDA. Mara Venier confronts the parent and Luca in an emotional face to face. To applaud the many non-musical guests, from Alessandro Siani and Vincenzo Salemme, also the second wife of Pino Daniele, Fabiola Sciabbarrasi, and Lorenzo Insigne, moved in the front row by the embrace of Piazza del Plebiscito. To Andrea Delogu, Stefano De Martino, Maurizio Casagrande, Francesco Merola, Luchè, Rosario Miraggio and the representatives of the Neapolitan urban scene the task of accompanying the Neapolitan public in delirium until late at night.
Grand finale with ‘Napule è’: a tribute to Pino Daniele, defined as ‘the greatest of all’, with a photo of the two artists on the big screen and the sky illuminated by spectacular fireworks.
