Fire devastates the forests of Zamora. Flames towards Portugal
youn a forest fire in the Sierra de la Culebra, in the Spanish province of Zamora, is currently counting on putting out around 400 professionals on the ground tempting the flames, which have already spread over an area of 10,800 hectares.
The information was confirmed by the Ministry of the Environment of the Regional Government of Castile and Leon, quoted here by the local press. A further 92 vehicles are on the ground, of which 23 are aerial.
According to the website zamora24horas.com, this one, which does not stop its advance, left a large number of localities already known for the proximity of the flames. The same source explains that the chama are on alert for Portugal, at the moment they are already on their way, as Portuguese authorities on alert for Portugal. This is because the Sierra de la Culebra is located about 40 kilometers from the border with Portugal.
Firefighters from the district of Bragança are also collaborating on the ground. A help that “was sent within the framework of the protocol between Portugal and Spain on Technical Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Civil Protection”, can be read in a publication on the social network Twitter made by the National Emergency and Civil Authority.
