Dallas will again try Goran Dragić to help Luka Dončić
The Dallas Mavericks might decide on another Slovenian meeting, where Luka Dončić and Goran Dragić will perform.
As the focus of the entire league shifts quickly to next week’s setup and the start of free play on June 30, sources say Dallas – while prioritizing its need for more wing help – plans to explore the possibility of signing Goran Dragic this summer.

This first appeared 10 months ago when it was rumored that Dragic would be bought out by the Toronto Raptors and then quickly signed with the Mavs.
It did not see the light of day. Instead, Dragic was eventually replaced by the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Drew Eubanks, Thaddeus Young and the chosen one in the second round of 2022. The Spurs then bought him out and he signed for the Brooklyn Nets.
Goran Dragic played 16 games for the Nets. He played 25.5 minutes per game and scored 7.3 points per game, although he made a bit more noise in the playoffs.
Luka Dončić, meanwhile, had an unforgettable season in Dallas. Doncic led the Mavs to the NBA Finals for the third time in a row. They defeated the Utah Jazz and top Phoenix Suns holders, making it to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since the 2011 NBA Championships.
Dončić won another NBA All-Star selection and earned a place in the first All-NBA team for the third year in a row.
If Dončić reunites with Dragić, it would be the first time that Slovenians have played side by side in the NBA league. This could be a magical couple, considering how the tandem of Dončić and Dragić led Slovenia to the title of champion at Eurobasket 2017.

Of course, Dončić needs all the help he can get. If Dragic comes, he can contribute to the Mavs’ hope that they will rise to even greater heights next season.
