Algeria Ferries crossing canceled in Marseille: damning testimony
What’s going on at Algeria Ferries? More than fifteen days after the detention of the dismissal of the CEO, who has been remanded in custody, things are still not improving. They even seem to be getting worse, as shown by the case of the cancellation of the Marseille – Bejaïa crossing.
It’s one more episode in the bad summer soap opera of Algérie Ferries. After the chaos in the agencies in France, the breakdowns of the reservation system, the bugs in online reservations, now Algérie Ferries is simply canceling a crossing without first informing its customers who have bought their tickets and made the trip. at the port of Marseilles.
Marseille – Bejaïa crossing cancelled: the testimony of a customer Algerie Ferries
The Béjaïa – Marseille crossing on Thursday June 16 is indeed on the official program published by Algérie Ferries. Tickets were sold out by the shipping company and customers had no reason to believe the crossing, added to the schedule last May after the government’s latest update, was going to be cancelled.
A testimonial, accompanied by a video, published by a customer sums up the disappointment and above all the distress of the passengers, including families, at the port of Marseille.
“This morning for the Marseille – Bejaia crossing at 12:00 With my family, we arrived at 6:00 in the morning. Nobody at the door. There were at most 30 cars (already weird). Then seeing movement in front of the gate, the port security came to see us, they told us that the crossing was not on the program and that there is therefore no agent of Algérie Ferries ENTMV on site. There we are all shocked, we tell ourselves that it is not possible since the boat is there. And especially since we have not received any emails, text messages or calls regarding a possible cancellation”, she writes. The French police eventually intervened to invite the passengers to “clear the way since the port says there is no boat”she adds.
Marseille – Bejaïa crossing canceled: Algeria Ferries observes the silence
Passengers went to the Algérie Ferries agency in Marseille to try to obtain an explanation. “But too many people impossible to return. Conclusion no support, no word, no explanation. I called my agency they were not notified.explains the customer, disappointed.
“We returned to Lyon because there is nothing to do there, there is no one there. The question is how some people knew for several days of the cancellation and the agencies didn’t??? We are still shocked”she finished.
Algérie Ferries has not commented on this surprise cancellation of the Marseille-Béjaïa crossing on Thursday 16 June. According to Tawfik Kheddim, deputy of the Algerians of France, “The decision to cancel this crossing was taken last May. The cancellation has nothing to do with the accident in the car park or the water leak on board the boat. Sales have been halted on this crossing. This explains the presence of about thirty passengers at the port. Those who failed to notify customers of the cancellation must take responsibility,” he writes.
