The Toche sisters (Louise and Julia) at the origin of the place are not at their first attempt. After having climbed the ladder of many establishments appreciated by the people of Marseille, and having made a revealing and formative escapade (each in turn) in Australia, they decide to embark on their hometown.
They begin their project first, in a small committee and with a menu exclusively made up of sandwiches, at the Abbey cafe in the district of Saint-Victor. An adventure that allows them to stir up the sauce and find the necessary expertise to open their first baby: Cantoche.
Cantoche becomes in a few weeks, the culmination of all their efforts to give good, fresh and quality product to starving marseilles lunchtimes and (some) evenings.
Cantoche: Every day a new appointment
As in the traditional canteen, Julia and her kitchen team try to offer a different menu every day. First out of respect for the people who would like to come and eat there every day, but also to highlight their very clear vision of what a good restaurant should be. The menu is not only made according to the seasons but above all inspirations and desires of day. Never short of ideas, Julia redoubles her imagination to pleasantly surprise the guests who sit down at her and her sister’s house.

On the day of our visit, the menu consisted, among other things, ofArancini, marinated fennel and cherry at the entrance, of a Baba ganoush, fried lavash bread and grilled vegetablesor even of Beef tagliata, Sicilian caponata & basil as a main course and a few sweet touches for dessert with an Fstrawberry financiale or another Ricotta, orange & chocolate tart. What to give you an idea of thecarefully balanced eclecticism that you can find in the dishes at Cantoche.

Louise, the youngest Toche sister, leads her team with a masterful hand as a dispatcher, both indoors and on the terrace, of the flavors concocted by her big sister. On the program, therefore, dishes always divinely presented in local and artisanal dishes by theFrench workshopglasses of local wine or small bottles of sour and sparkling VIVANT Kombucha brewed in oak barrels.
