Ukraine has surrounded the Russian embassy in Finland
Employees of the Russian embassy in Helsinki feel under siege.
Armored curtains are lowered on the windows, protective shields on the doors. Around the perimeter of the embassy with Ukrainian flags, blue and yellow flowers, stickers, ribbons, posters, candles, everything that protests against the Kremlin invasion of Ukraine.
A few days later, protests against the Kremlin took place near the embassy in Finland. And while Russian officials are trying to tear down anti-Putin posters and stickers at night, there are only more.
Finland is part of many countries in the world, which is Ukraine. The country has hosted thousands of Ukrainians for whom a special humanitarian program is running. Ukrainians support temporary international protection, including housing, food and funds. Children are provided with preschool and educational institutions. Travel on public transport, including trams, travel, buses and ferries, is free for Ukrainians.
Recently, the Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marinla visited Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
As Ukrinform previously reported, the famous Finnish opera singer Petrus Schroeder has been on the entire concert program and everything related to Russia since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. He is currently working on a new program to support Ukraine. All Petrus Schroeder’s concerts, transfers and charity dinners are free for Ukrainians. Schroederus recently gave a concert for the Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland Olga Dibrova.
In the announcement of a charity concert in support of Ukraine in the city of Nagu, near the first capital of Finland – Turku, the singer’s team proposed to declare June 12, when the Kremlin celebrates “Russian Independence Day”, “Independence Day from Russia”.
Finland, which survived the attack of the Red Army in 1939, although inflicted enormous losses on the Russians, but was forced to cede part of our territory, now called the Republic of Karelia as part of Russia.
Finland’s support from Ukraine is not limited to the state. The citizens of Finland are also completely on the side of Ukraine.
The car was spotted when the Finns stopped cars with Putin’s Russian-speaking poets and demanded that they be removed from Russian symbols.
Recently, Chechens living in Helsinki passed an ultimatum to “supporters of the special operation in Ukraine” who live with them in the same city: “You will decorate cars with your Putin’s fascist symbols – we will break the glass and you.”
A former fighter in the army of Ichkeria Hussein, who has been living in Finland since the late 1990s and has been developing a Russian-language removal from a car disguised as a Volkswagen symbol of Putin’s special operation – the letter “V” – has appeared for Ukrinform.
No pro-Kremlin symbols have been seen in Helsinki since 9 May.
Employees of the Russian embassy are afraid to go outside their enclave. They no longer travel to Finland in a car with Russian license plates, using only blue diplomatic license plates, for which no other nationality is possible.
The Russian Center for Science and Culture has been closed in the Finnish capital since the end of February. Protective screens are lowered on the doors, the windows are curtained. All activities of the center have been stopped.
Among the Ukrainian diaspora in Helsinki, there are ideas to appeal to local authorities to develop an act on the inclusion of a large building of the “Russian Cultural Center” for Ukrainian refugees.
