Applicants who submitted a Schengen visa application at embassies, consulates and other visa centers in Denmark, France, Norway and Sweden in 2021 were most likely to have their application rejected, compared with the services that issue visas in the other countries in the Schengen area.
Newly published Schengen visa statistics shows that in 2021, these four countries had the highest percentage of rejected visa applications submitted by travelers from third countries wishing to visit their territory.
While Sweden leads the listwhich rejects 30.6 percent of the 22,260 visa applications received, the other countries are as follows:

In 2019, before the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, when the Schengen area’s embassies, consulates and visa centers functioned normally and accepted and processed visas, the proportion of rejections was 9.9 percent.
In the same year, the countries with the highest rejection rates were Portugal (20.3 percent), Malta (19.6 percent), Belgium (18.8 percent), France (16 percent) and the Netherlands (13.1 percent).
In 2021, on the other hand, the countries with the lowest rejection rates were Luxembourg (1.2 percent), Slovakia (2.7 percent), Lithuania (2.8 percent), the Czech Republic (3.3 percent) and Latvia (3.5 percent). ). percent).
Regarding the highest number of rejected applications in 2021, the list is topped by France, which rejected 128,672 applications, followed by Spain with 69,863 and Germany with 53,987. The three are also the countries that have received the most visa applications in the same year, as follows:

In the case of the third countries with the highest rejection rates, the list is topped by Guinea-Bissau, where 53% of Schengen visa applications submitted by its citizens have been rejected. Senegalese citizens are in second place with 52.2 percent of their visa applications rejected, and Nigerians in third place with 51 percent of their applications rejected.
