SVR relies on its own offspring, talks with Salzburg about extending Nene’s loan
“They were turbulent days. Ante Bajic’s departure hurts us, but we were prepared for it. In Christoph Monschein we found a type of player that we were looking for,” said SV Ried sports director Thomas Reicheltshammer at the start of training in Geinberg.
Other newcomers so far: Michael Martin (Steyr) and Denizcan Cosgun (Innsbruck). In addition, three loan players returned to SVR in Julian Turi (Steyr), David Ungar (FAC) and Torhter Lukas Gtlbauer (FAC). Belmin Beganovic, Diego Madritsch, Patrick Moser, Nico Wiesinger, Jonas Mayer and Philipp Birglehner get a chance with the pros from their own offspring or the amateur team. The occupation of the goalkeeper could also be interesting.
Gtlbauer, who was voted best goalkeeper in the second division last season, still has a contract until 2023, but he really wants to play. “Samuel Sahin-Radlinger is the clear number one for us, he is very important for the club and will stay with us. That’s why the situation for Gtlbauer is not easy, but if it becomes necessary, we will look for a solution together,” said Reifeltshammer. Asked about the whereabouts of playmaker Stefan Nutz, Reifeltshammer replied: “I hope so.” An extension of the loan deal with Nene cannot be ruled out. “We signaled to Salzburg that we would like to extend the loan. There are talks,” says Reifeltshammer.
