SV Horn secures the services of Alexander Joppich. The 27-year-old defender is moving from FC Wacker Innsbruck to the Waldviertel and has signed a contract until 2024.
Joppich went through the academy in Tyrol before he ventured abroad for a year in the summer of 2013 to join Augsburg II in the Bavarian regional league. After returning home, the 1.71 meter tall left-back played for FC Liefering, Austria Lustenau and from the 2018/19 season he was active for FC Wacker Innsbruck.
With a total of 158 appearances in the 2nd division, Joppich brings a lot of experience to Horn. In the past season, the former Austrian youth national team player played in 27 championship games from Innsbruck.
Joppich “is an important building block”
“Alexander Joppich already has a lot of experience and despite his 27 years is an absolute veteran in the 2nd division. Alex is an important building block on our left side of defense to give the team the necessary stability. We firmly believe that together we can achieve our goals for this season with him,” says managing director Andreas Zinkel.
Alexander Joppich on his first impressions and goals: “The discussions with the sporting directors and the coach convinced me 100 percent of the club and the project. I’m looking forward to getting to know the employees, the coaching team and the team and I want to use my experience to contribute to the positive development of the sport.”
