Canon appoints Luis Olaya as Director of Direct Sales Production for Portugal and Spain
Canon has appointed Luis Olaya as new Director of Production Direct Sales for Portugal and Spain.
With more than 30 years of experience in business management in sectors as diverse as telecommunications, outsourcing or printing, Luis Olaya brings to the multinational his strategic vision for a production printing area in the Iberian market.
The executive will reconcile the new load with the areas he already occupies, namely, a director of Canon Business Services (CBS), where he is responsible for leading the set of professional services that Canon offers to its customers, and of director of strategic accounts.
Reinforcement of the production printing area
Luis Olaya will continue to report to Javier Tabernero, managing director for Portugal and Spain.
The new challenge represents an increase in production in Canon’s printing area in the Iberian region, taking into account the positive evolution registered in recent years. “Under the new leadership, this growth is expected to be reinforced, with a programming premise such as quality and speed requirements of the market and with a clear orientation towards the customer.”, can be read in the statement.
Bet on internal talent
Luis Olaya will take the place of Alicia Cifré, recently held a European Vice President, Production Print Direct Sales. He joined Canon in 2004 and, since then, they have been responsible for different activities, including the management of the print outsourcing services area for EMEA or the implementation of Canon’s information services and solutions strategy for Portugal and Spain. . Previously, she worked at companies such as AlcatelLucent, Vodafone or Nortel.
The executive holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Escuela Colombiana de Inginiería and also has a master’s degree from the General Management Program at IESE Business School in Madrid. He has also completed several training programs on corporate strategy and leadership at the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.
