Sharing, good ideas for Barcelona
We attended the first show open to the public of Compartir Barcelona (València, 225) on Wednesday at noon, after a week of rehearsals between friends and acquaintances behind closed doors. The curtain goes up and it has nothing to do with the dilapidated space in which at the beginning of this year we photographed the chefs from Barcelona’s Enjoy and Share from Cadaqués, Eduard Xatruch, Mateu Casañas and Oriol Castro together with Nil Dulcet, his disciple and partner for this new adventure. Together they then revealed the decision to open a Compartir in the Catalan capital in a large 500-square-meter premises that El Equipo Creativo would remodel, taking inspiration from Cap de Creus.
Nil Dulcet (Terrassa, 1989) is in charge of the new restaurant in what is his first business venture, accompanying those who were his bosses from the days of El Bulli to Sharing and Enjoying. His sense of responsibility, his talent, his rigor and his humanity are the best starting point to lead a young team that starts with contagious enthusiasm a project that will add to a city with an interesting offer but where it is easy for the account to skyrocket at the minimum that the diner gets confused.
They start from a very good value for money and with a menu of dishes and wines that allow you to enjoy adjusting to the plan and budget of each one for that occasion.
They told us months ago, while they were showing the diaphanous premises, that they wanted a Mediterranean feel to be breathed both in the dishes and in the interior design. And there they are, for the premiere, the nods to the blue of the sea, to the ceramics or to the Mediterranean tapestries, to the wicker of the baskets, to the sails of the boats or to those logs that the waves drag to the shore.

They also explained that there would be a wider offer than in the establishment in Cadaqués, with which they would stay, Dulcet repeats, enriching synergies, a lot of renewal of the menu and options to want who to go out one day to eat during a work meeting, to go out with a group, to make a quick meal or to treat yourself to a small gastronomic tribute. Successful versatility in an inverted U-shaped room that contains several private rooms and dining rooms, two corridors of which are connected by a short glass wall that houses the cellar.
The menu of dishes is divided into simple and well-ordered sections: oysters, cold and hot. Stuffed brioches: from Chinese bread stuffed with caviar, a classic of Enjoy and one of the luxuries of the house (35 euros) to those stuffed with burrata and truffle or beef tartare and quail egg (9, 75 and 14 euros). Very interesting first courses, among which we are especially seduced by the beet salad and ajoblanco sorbet (14 euros), excellent; mackerel flambéed cold with black olives and the magnificent flavors of Gilda (15.75 euros); sardines marinated in carrot and coconut marinade (13.75); the Galician razor clams with al dente asparagus and codium seaweed (16.25) and the veal carpaccio with Port wine with shavings of foie-gras (15), which the diner himself turns into a roll with the help of tongs . Among the starters there are also classics created in Cadaqués, such as the tuna cannelloni (19). They have a rice section (between 22.50 and 36.50), a good option for those who want to bet on a single dish and fish and meat.
If the first of them will motivate the next visit, of the others we tried the red mullet with a thin layer of confit jowl, smoked aubergine and sweet and sour sauce, very tasty, and a tender magret of rested duck sautéed with vegetables and oriental touches. The last section contains highly recommended desserts such as the Catalan cream foam with orange and strawberries (8), light, with textures and the essence of flavor of the Catalan classic, and an ingenious revision of the Caprese salad to take it to the sweet field. Do not miss it.
