SC West Cologne brings Geldmacher and Hellenthal
District league, season 1: SC West Köln sign Vincent Geldmacher and Lukene Hellenthal.
The squad of SC West Cologne for the upcoming season in the district league, season 1, is slowly taking shape. After three players will leave the club, it’s with Vincent Geldmacher and Luke Hellenthal Now the first additions. The coach will also be new in 2022/23.
At the SC West Cologne WILL there be some changes for the upcoming season. Top scorer Joel Today leaves the club and joins FC Pesch, Luke Schneider it moves to the second team of Fortuna Cologne and Florian Hensel changes to SpVg Köln-Flittard. There is also a new face in the coaching position: André Otten plays the westerners to the new season.
Two new ones for the midfield
Meanwhile, the club announced the first two summer transfers. With Luke Hellenthal and Vincent Geldmacher two midfielders join SC West. “Lukene has already worked with our new coach André Otten. He is very fast and, given his young age, still has enormous development potential. We are very happy that he has chosen us,” explains the sporting director Gino Baudrie.
The 20-year-old comes from SV Frauenberg from season 3 of the district leagues. There he was in the current competition in 27 matches on the other field, scoring five goals and one hit. He was trained, among other things, in the junior departments of the DJK Southwest Cologne and at TuS Chlodwig Zülpich.

Something more experienced Vincent Geldmacher. After three years at Horremer SV the 26-year-old is drawn to Cologne, where he meets an old acquaintance, Baudrie. “I know Vincent from our time in Lövenich. He’s a footballer with very good technical skills. For him it’s the first step in the district league, we have a lot of confidence in him,” explains Baudrie. Geldmacher came from the youth of SC Borussia Lindenthal Hohenlindbefore spending most of his career at SV Lövenich/Widdersdorf spent. He has 56 goals and 24 assists in 153 games.
