120 refugee women and children are considering the eviction of a former restaurant where they have taken refuge since May 13 in Montreuil (Paris), according to the Collectif Pasteur.
Indeed, according to the group that defended the rights of refugees, these people who arrived from several African countries took refuge in an empty and unsanitary restaurant and the prefecture asked them to leave the place without offering alternatives.
As the Collectif Pasteur indicates in its press release, the Prefecture sent an eviction notice last Wednesday and since Friday the police can intervene at any time to put “these women and their children” on the street. Moreover, on Friday, these refugees protested to draw attention to their deplorable living conditions.

Indeed, while 13 of them are pregnant, the Collectif Pasteur estimates, in its press release, that “the restaurant which serves as accommodation is unsanitary” and asks the prefecture to propose sustainable solutions.
Finally, still according to the press release, the Collective announced its intention to request the cancellation of the eviction in order to “allow the time necessary for the families to find rehousing solutions”.
In the meantime, the members of the Collective have launched an online kitty to help families find accommodation.
