San Marino. Aass advice to avoid wasting water
The management of the Autonomous State Authority for Public Services invites the citizens of the Republic of San Marino to use water resources responsibly.
“The low rainfall of the last few months has reduced the available water resources and the increase in temperatures in the last few weeks has increased the demand for water for drinking water”, declares the management of the autonomous state company for public serviceswhich in a note invites users to “a responsible use of water aimed at avoiding any waste” since only the collaboration of all citizens and businesses can prevent or delay the issuance of measures to limit the use of water drinking water, in any case to guarantee the maintenance of essential services “.
The AASS therefore invites all users “to apply, today with greater attention, some simple rules that allow significant water savings and also the reduction of bills:
- Apply the nozzle to all the taps and the shower: IThe nozzle is a mixer that allows you to obtain an effective jet with half the water used to have the same. This is possible through a water flow reduction valve which, exploiting the power of the water itself, mixes it with air, increasing its volume.
- Maintain your home water supply: a dripping tap or water leaking water should not be litriti: they can waste water liquids per day. Proper maintenance, checking the seals or, if necessary, a small repair save drinking water otherwise dis without being used.
- Use the toilet flush rationally: a water drain that allows you to regulate the flow of water saves thousands of liters per year. Each time you press the button, 10-12 liters of water are consumed.
- Prefer a shower to a bathroom: use the shower and close it while you soap, orient the jet well and install a flow reducer; with these measures you can save over 75% of the water. Remember the water consumption for a bath can be up to four times higher than that for a shower.
- Avoid keeping the tap open unnecessarily and avoid consuming water unnecessarily: turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, shaving, or shampooing. Use running water only when needed. To wash dishes or vegetables, use a container and use running water only for rinsing. Furthermore, you can use the cooking water of pasta and potatoes – which has a strong degreasing power – to wash the dishes: it allows not only water savings, but also detergents.
- Use functional and fully loaded appliances: always use the washing machine and dishwasher fully loaded, consume less water and less energy. These appliances consume a lot of water with each wash, depending on the load of clothes and dishes.
- Pay attention to the water used in the garden: your plants need a lot of care, not a lot of water. Water the garden only if necessary and always in the evening; water evaporates more slowly and is not wasted but absorbed by the earth. In addition, the plants and flowers of the terrace can be watered with rainwater or reused the water used for fruit and vegetables.
- Do not use running water to wash the car: if you wash the car, use the bucket and sponge and not running water.
- Check your meter with closed taps: in the evening, before going to sleep, check that all the taps in the house are well closed and note the consumption of the water meter. Wake up in the morning, she checks the meter again. Even a small difference means there is a leak in your network“.
Finally, the Autonomous State Company for Public Services reminds us that “it is possible to check consumption and fill out bills for the water, gas and electricity services directly from home by registering in the customer section of the internet portal www. aass.sm “. It is also “possible to request the shipment of bills to your e-mail box, avoiding unnecessary paper consumption”.
